The breadth of the University’s contribution to supporting outstanding provision is demonstrated through collaborative delivery of national qualifications for headteachers and school leaders as the National College for Teaching and Leadership licensee for the Quality Through Leadership (QTL) consortium of Outstanding schools. QTL focusses on developing outstanding school and system leaders, excellence in teaching, and closing the attainment gap.
The University of Winchester also partners with schools to deliver the School Direct model of teacher training. School Direct meets local challenges in recruitment, enabling schools to grow their own staff, deciding who they want to recruit and train. The University of Winchester’s approach reflects a shared commitment to co-construct enhanced approaches to ITE through strong partnerships. For more information about School Direct visit the University’s website.
